Overview: Set Up a Team on Elance

Small Business and Large Business providers can now add additional team members to their Elance accounts.


This functionality enables you to:

  • Make it easier for people in the same company to organize as a team and work together
  • Control access to cash withdraw and other sensitive information by role
  • Assign job ownership to a project leader ensuring accountability
  • Creating more visibility to team members with multiple user profiles

  • Team Collaboration

    This functionality enables you to:
    • Small Business—Add 5 additional members
    • Large Business—Unlimited additional members
    • Each team member has a unique username and password
    • Team members can access workrooms to chat with employers, send private messages (PMB), upload files, track time and progress, and update status
    • Ownership of jobs can be assigned to a team member (more details below)
       

    Role Assignment

    Owner—Have access to all functionality. Cannot be deleted.

    Administrator—Access to all functionality except updating the Company profile. But can be deleted by the Owner or another Administrator.

    Manager—Responsible for submitting proposals, negotiating terms, managing projects, delivering work and billing. This role cannot access account and membership related activities such as withdrawing money, reviewing account transaction history, or changing membership plan.

    Consultant—Work with the project leaders to submit the job deliverables to the employer.  Users with this role can only access jobs assigned to them.  Consultants only have access to their jobs' Workrooms, share Files, view and edit Private Messages, use Tracker and submit time via the Status Reports. 

     


    Job Ownership

    • To establish job ownership and enable accountability, assign team members as project leaders to jobs the company has been hired for.
    • Only team members with a Owner, Administrator or Manager role can be assigned project leaders to a job.
    • The project leaders of a job manages communication with the employer, submit statuses and delivers work.
    • Owner and administrator can easily track status of jobs managed by specific project leaders and re-assign if needed.
    • Project leaders receive private messages and other email notifications related to jobs they manage.
    • After a provider is hired for a job, the person who submitted the proposal automatically becomes the project leader.
    • Project leaders can re-assign their jobs to other team members if needed.
